Our action plan to increase inclusivity

Dear artist community,

Many look up to us, curators, in order to figure out what art is (museums, galleries, magazines, platforms like this one). Artists have been making art that is representative of their experience for centuries, but we only have seen a very specific fraction of it mostly curated and tailored to a white male gaze.

Although, our directory represents artists from over 30 countries, we found some areas to improve upon. Together, we can make a difference! Let's make changes on a curatorial level!⁣⁣

Here is how we are implementing permanent changes in order to be even more inclusive: ⁣

  • Ensuring that we are highlighting womxn artists from ALL communities, Indigenous, Black, Asian, South Asian, Middle Eastern, Latin, and more. ⁣

  • Doing the work and research to learn more about minority populations.⁣

  • Coaching our curators on the importance of fair representation to align with our values. ⁣

  • Holding ourselves accountable and reviewing any finalists to make sure opportunities are offered to a diverse selection of artists.⁣

  • Implementing a resource guide for artists on our website with ability to submit more resources from our community.

  • Listening to our community's feedback. If you are not seeing your community represented, simply tag an amazing artist or DM us and let us know how we can improve!⁣ We want to make sure you see art that represents you!⁣

Love to all,
Svitlana, founder & CEO
