We all talk about inequality and injustice, but what we don’t talk about enough is different ways one can take action and encourage others to do the same!
Here are 5 simple steps to help you take action against inequality in the art world:
✅ Do your own research by paying attention to representation in the art displays.
✅ Submit suggestions to curators and directors of museums and galleries.
✅ If you are an artist, pay attention to the line up of artists along your side.
✅ Ask important questions:
Where are your womxn artists?
What % of your collections are womxn artists?
What % are womxn artists of color?
What is your timeline for achieving equality?
What progress have you achieved in the last 5 years?
✅ Continue the conversation outside of the context of the art world, art world is not the only place with this problem!
